The Auvergne of the Rising Sun
Much more discreet than its volcanic neighbour, the Livradois-Forez Natural Park offers at least as much natural wealth. Revealing a mountain landscape with passes and ridges, and hiding little valleys where cutlers and paper makers have been working for centuries. Land of crafts and tradition, the Livradois-Forez has the colour and character of the local cheese that represents it, the “Fourme d'Ambert”, mild and hard, generous and harsh at the same time.
