Clermont - Volcanoes
At the crossroads
Clermont-Ferrand is the Regional Capital which was known as the headquarters of Michelin and for the black spires of its cathedral. Today Clermont has shaken off these clichés and is showing off its real nature. Imprinted with a rich history which saw the victory of Vercingétorix, the departure for the crusades and the birth of Blaise Pascal, Clermont lives today to the rhythm of its Higher Education colleges and schools, its technological centres, its International Short Film Festival and its ambitious regional projects, all watched over by the benevolent eye of the Puy de Dôme, the Clermontois’ favourite summit and barometer.
