'Tourism and Handicap' Label
As part of its policy in favour of access to holidays and leisure activities to the physically impaired, the Secretary of State for Tourism has implemented a quality management system aimed at receiving disabled people in partnership with Tourism professionals and the associations representing the disabled.
The national label “Tourism and Handicap” aims firstly to provide reliable and objective information about the accessibility of tourist sites and facilities taking into account all types of disability and, secondly, to develop suitable facilities integrated to the standard offer.
It can be allocated for one, two, three or four disabilities. Each handicap is represented by a particular icon.
The label is granted for a 5 year period, renewable by amendment to the contract after an inspection proves that the accessibility and reception criteria have been maintained. The”Tourism and Handicap” label is a sign of recognition – a guarantee of effective and adapted conditions.
